We act as a data controller when directly receiving and handling the personal data of freelancers registering on our platform.

Please be aware that we may transfer your Personal Information to locations outside Australia and the European Union.

We take care to work with such third parties who we believe maintain an acceptable standard of data security and require them not to use your personal information for any purpose except for those activities we have asked them to perform on our behalf.

We use Stripe, a third-party payment processor, to handle credit card and other payment transactions made through our website. When you make a payment, you provide your payment information directly to Stripe. We may receive information from Stripe related to your payment, such as:

  • Confirmation of payment;
  • The last four digits of your credit card number;
  • The card’s expiration date;
  • Transaction ID; and
  • Other details as necessary to complete the payment

We do not store your full credit card details on our servers. Stripe handles the secure storage and processing of your payment information in compliance with industry standards, including PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard).

7. Storage of Your Personal Information

We store personal information on secure servers on the AWS cloud in Australia. However, data may be transferred to cloud service providers with overseas operations. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, or unauthorized access.

We also may use Google Analytics to track web traffic information which is operated by Google and stores information across multiple countries.

When you communicate with us through a social media service such as Facebook or Twitter, the social media provider and its partners may collect and hold your personal information overseas.

8. Marketing

We may at times send you marketing communications which will be done in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) (Spam Act) and GDPR.

If we do, we may use email, SMS, social media, phone, or mail to send you direct marketing communications.

Where consent is needed, we will ask you for your consent before sending you marketing communications, except where you have explicitly opted-in to receive email marketing from us in the past.

You can, at any time, opt out of receiving marketing materials from us by using the opt-out facility provided (e.g., an unsubscribe link on emails we send you) or by contacting us via the details provided at the end of this privacy policy. We will implement such a request as soon as possible, however, cannot guarantee that such a response will be immediate.

9. De-Identified Information

The information we collect may have analytical, educational, or commercial value to us. Where we have de-identified the information we have collected, we reserve the right to process and distribute such information.

We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is secure and protected from misuse or unauthorized access. In the event of a data breach, we are committed to notifying affected individuals in compliance with both GDPR and Australian privacy laws. Under the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, we will inform you and the Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) if a breach is likely to cause serious harm. If the breach involves the personal data of European Union individuals, we will notify the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours and inform affected individuals if the breach is likely to result in significant harm. We take data protection seriously and will take appropriate steps to address any breaches promptly.
